How to set up two-step authentication in Microsoft Edge

After the first access to the C+ Portal, you will be directed to the two-step authentication configuration step in the Copastur system, which can be done in two ways: on your computer or mobile phone, as you prefer.
This article will help you in the configuration of authentication on your browser Microsoft Edge.

📃 How does it work? Two-step authentication is an effective way to protect your online accounts from being hacked. Even if your account is hacked, you will still need to enter the unique code (token), which can only be obtained on your mobile phone or computer.
To configure authentication, it is necessary to provide your login, password and token, which can be generated via:

Browser extension: you can install an extension in your browser (Chrome or Edge) to generate a temporary token each time you access the system;

Mobile app: it is possible to install an app on your mobile phone to generate a temporary token each time you access the system.
⛔ Warning! If you install the extension on your browser, don't install the application on your mobile phone. It is not possible to use more than one application to generate the temporary token.
To set up two-step authentication on your computer, follow the steps below:
Download extension in Microsoft Edge browser
1. In the right-hand side of the Microsoft Edge home page, click on the three-dot icon:

2. Click on Extensions > Get extensions for Microsoft Edge;
3. You will be directed to the Edge Add-ons store. In the search bar, search for "Microsoft authenticator";
4. Locate the Authenticator: 2FA Client extension and click on Get:

5. A confirmation message will be displayed. Click on Add extension to install the extension;
6. After installed, it is necessary to pin this extension in the taskbar of your browser. Click on the puzzle icon, locate the Authenticator extension and click on Show in toolbar:

Configure authentication
⚠️ Important! At this time it is necessary that you are on the configuration screen of the two-step authentication of the desired Copastur system.
1. In the Edge taskbar, click on Authenticator > Scan QR code:

2. Click and drag to completely bypass the QR code displayed on the screen of the Copastur system;
3. A confirmation message will be displayed, click on Ok;
4. On the same screen where you find the QR Code, fill in the fields below:

One-time code: fill in the code presented in the extension;

Device name: fill in the device name as shown next to the authentication code in the app.
5. Click on Submit to finish the configuration;
6. Once done, use the extension whenever you need to access the Copastur system.
⚠️ Important!
- The configuration action is only required on first access to the system. The next accesses will only ask for the token provided by the extension installed in your browser;
- If the authentication setup has displayed the message "Invalid authenticator code", please contact the Latam Support team via e-mail productos.latam@copastur.com.br requesting a two-step configuration reset.
